Do you watch How I Met Your Mother? They have a hilarious episode where Marshall and Lilly try really hard to make IT couple friends.

We have a few IT couples we love spending time with, but everyone has kids and very hectic schedules so it's tough getting together as often as we'd like.

We had a couple that we hung out with every weekend before we moved! It was difficult at first, but I'm so grateful we met a few couples through church. We trade babysitting, play games together, and love to spend holidays hanging out. My fav part about couple friends is you become friends with people you might not have gotten to know in other circumstances. By the way, your business cards make you sound right up our "couple friends" ally. :0)

My best friend and her husband were our IT couple when we lived in SEattle. Now we live 1 hours north and we just don't get to see them as much, and it sucks. We have another couple we're friends with but no one we can have those inpromptu gatherings with. I agree, it's like dating, and it can be really hard!

We had an "it" couple with a baby. Until they started hanging out more with another couple that didn't have kids and we don't have as much in common with them. Guess we were kicked to the curb! :) It's hard though! I do like when we can hang out as a couple with another couple. It makes things so much more fun!

LOVE this post!! As you know Megan, I had a group of several couples pre-Nebraska. And I do feel like I am dating in the search for the new couple who wants to hang out with both of us!:)

It's MUCH easier to find mommy friends....but finding couple friends is nearly impossible.

This past week-end gave me hope!! Zack and I had a great time with all the couples that came over for our cheap-o potluck and I think we should defiantly do it WAYY more often!!

Luckily we do have a couple couples who also both have kids and we all get along and enjoy playing games and such...bad news is they live about 25 to 30 minutes north...not really that big a deal in good winter but leaves us a bit lonely in the winter months when no one wants to hit the icy roads to connect!

No - we're working on it. My blog title may give the illusion that we are... it's more about the ups and downs of considering and trying to become a mum. Wwwwwaaaayyyy more work than I thought it was going to be - the getting preggers part, not keeping up Tales. hahah!
I will definitely join a mom's group - that is such a great suggestion! Thanks for the tip!

Oh man, does this post really hit home!
SuperFutureDad and I have NO ONE like that - and I am desperate to find someone.
It's hard for us because we both have wacky work schedules but I wish we could find a way around that. Where can you meet couples besides Home Depot??!! LOL! We don't have kids (yet) so I'm thinking it should still be easy for us - why isn't it???

I wish we had an it couple, but most of our friends haven't had kids yet so we don't spend as much time together. How did you find your mom's group? Maybe something like that would help us.

My husband and I basically have NO friend couples whatsoever. I don't have the time or energy to think much about it now that we have a baby.

We have a few "it" couples friends pre-baby, but that went out the window.

I guess that's part of being somewhat anti-social -- we sort of prefer to stay in as a family mostly.

We had an "It" couple, but tired of them after a while. In BR we had a few. I guess I am lazy w/ getting sitters here...though it was a lot of fun at Sarah's...I'd love to do a once a month "non" date night (cause then we don't have to get sitters) where kids play in one area and adults chill/eat potluck in another. Cheap and fun.
