A Chunky Monkey Christmas!

Yeah yeah. It's January. But guess what? We have eleventy seven feet of snow, it's currently -1 degree, and it sure as hell feels Christmas-y here still. That could also be because we still have our tree and decorations up though..... Besides, it's my blog, so I can post about Christmas in June if I wanna!

We actually had TWO Christmases here! Why? That might just be because a huge raging storm rolled into our neck of the tundra on Chrismas Eve. They might have predicted about a foot of snow. So? Since we do Christmas Eve fondue at my parents house, then head back over on Christmas morning, we decided to not chance the snow and roads (covered with morons convinced that just because they have an SUV, they can drive anywhere. Going sixty.) and just stay the night at my parents house. We had a feeling we may get snowed in there, so we brought clothes, and packed up the dog.

For once the weathermen were right. We got a SCHLOAD of snow. Seriously. It started snowing about 11am on Christmas Eve, and didn't stop until late on the 26th. We were kind of bummed we wouldn't get to have our own little family Christmas at our house on Christmas morning, but C had a GREAT time opening presents at Grandma and Grandpa's.

This would be I think the 4th time he snowblowed in 12 hours? A schload of snow, I'm telling you!!

Our jeep, and my brother and his fiancee's focus, buried in snow.

C, checking out his new sled Uncle Sean and Auntie Amanda gave him!

C riding his new Inchworm! Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa! (grandma is in the back, making sure he doesn't fall)

This was seriously his favorite gift. This kid LOVES to sweep or swiffer. So, we thought we'd put that love to good use!

Opening presents!

Just and adorable pic of an adorable (not so) baby!

Playing with his new train!

Santa Carson (you can't see, but he was using his new broom)

So, we had a great Christmas. It was so much fun watching C be excited about everything. Though really, he could have just gotten the broom and been a happy camper! None of us even made it out of pajamas on Christmas Day. Seriously. We ate our Christmas dinner of prime rib, all in jammies! C had on an ADORABLE pair of Christmas jammies, but the night before, we had a disposable diaper explode and those gross gel crystal things were everywhere. So, monsters it was.

We finally made it home late in the day on the 26th. We decided to pretend the morning of the 27th was Christmas, so when C went to bed, Santa came! Get ready for another assault on your eyeballs with way too many pictures.

Santa paid Chunky Monkey a visit.

And clearly he was on the nice list!

This was his reaction Christmas morning. Priceless, right?!?!

This would be the car that Mommy and Daddy nearly froze to death getting, waiting in line at Toys R Us on Black Friday Santa brought.

His Laugh & Learn Learning Home. LOVES this thing. Best buy off of Craigslist!!

He just wanted to take the bows off of everything. He needed convincing to rip the paper off.

What?? There's more presents!! Ok, I'm coming!!

A happy boy and a Merry Christmas!

It didn't matter that it wasn't technically Christmas. It was SO fun watching him be thrilled with everything. Finances have been rough this year, and we were VERY fortunate to have friends and family help us give C a great Christmas. We are very lucky! I hope you all had a great Christmas, too!

I love, love, love his Santa outfit!! And the Laugh and Learn house is awesome!! Libby got one for her first birthday and I cannot get rid of thing! She and EJ both still play with it. And if his sisters would let him get near, John would be all over it too!

It sounds you like had a great Christmas even if you got snowed in at your parent's house!

I cannot believe how big Carson is now.

Awe, he's so cute. I love his bed head. Charlie barely has any hair and and totally get bed head. And we have that little door toy. Best toy ever. My 5 year old still plays with it. Seriously.
