BEARPAW Boots Review and Giveaway!

So... it's cold here in Nebraska. No joke. A lot of days it is sub zero temperatures. Oh, and I don't know if you heard, but we got like eleventy seven TONS of snow. I'm not kidding! We are running out of places to put it, and there are some 12 foot snow drifts in some places! Oh, and the weather forecast? It's just calling for more of the white stuff, and more arctic tundra type temps.

Now even though I was raised (mostly) in California, I love winter. No joke, it's my favorite season. I love Christmas, cold air, snow on the ground. I love winter sports-- skiing (though I haven't done it in years. Nebraska isn't really overflowing with mountains), sledding, ice skating. And the clothes!! Who doesn't want to cozy up in a fleece pullover, or warm sweater? I love to accessorize with hats, gloves and scarves. And the boots!!

That's where BEARPAW comes in! They have some totally rockin' boots! I was given the opportunity to review two pairs of boots from BEARPAW. I selected the Eva 10" in Nutmeg for myself, and Chunky Monkey was also sent the Eva Short in Chocolate. Chunky unfortunately didn't get to test out his shoes. He needed a size 6, and there was a bit of a snafu, and we got a size 9. Let me tell you that they are ADORABLE though!! I do wish they'd fit him this year, but I think it will be more like two winters from now!

I was like a kid in a candy store when the boxes arrived! I tore into them like a crazed circus monkey. I might have scared the kid a little, I was shrieking with so much excitement. I immediately put them on, and it was a perfect fit. they slid right on, were easy peasy to get on and boy were they SOFT!!  That would be because not only are they lined in sheepskin, but the entire footbed is sheepskin, too! The great thing about sheepskin is that it helps regulate temperature. So, in the subzero temps, it keeps feet warm, but in warmer temperatures, it will keep your feet cool and dry. Clearly I haven't had a chance to test out the latter part of the theory yet! They absolutely keep my feet warm, though. The soles are a lightweight and flexible rubber, so they are easy to walk in, and help keep you upright when things get icy. We've had a few ice storms, and these are the first thing I reach for, so I don't slip and fall outside.

BEARPAW has tons and tons of shoes to choose from. You can outfit the entire family, even babies! Check out the mens Stowe boot. These are AWESOME! I wish Tom had a pair of these, actually. They would be perfect for snowblowing, shoveling and playing outside with Chunky Monkey on his new sled! Their customer service is great, and they have multiple collections to choose from. I also think they are really reasonably priced. Their are other sheepskin boots out there that BEARPAW is definitely similar to that are priced much, much higher. I love the variety that is offered through their different lines!

I also want to mention that BEARPAW is very involved in charity work. Not only the company, but the employees, too. They volunteer with several different charities: K.I.D.S., Soles 4 Souls, and The National Odd Shoe Exchange (N.O.S.E). It's VERY cool to see a company give back to communities nationwide, especially in times like now, when the economy isn't so swell. Kudos to BEARPAW! They have also set up some objectives to try to reduce, reuse and recycle within their company. This is something that is important to me, and I'm glad it is to them, too!
