This was Chunky Monkey's first 4th of July!!!
We decked him out in red, white and blue, natch.
He's like my own little huggable flag!!
Cute, no? And yes, he is rockin' a mohawk.
His fluffy bum was even Patriotic!
Thanks to his Mama's creativity with a diaper, we actually won a contest (submit a pic of your baby's 4th of July bum) and earned himself a free Fuzzibunz one size diaper!!
In case you are curious (and even if you aren't, cause this is MY blog) that is an iron on patch.
He also took his very first step into sand! My little beach baby!!
Couldn't you just die from the cuteness??
Apparently he felt that the sand looked good enough to eat. Mmm, fiber!
Don't worry, I'll give you the address to nominate me for Mom of the Year.
It was a day of firsts! He donned his first life jacket, too!
He was wedged in there good and tight. We shoved his legs in, then sort of shook him into the rest. You know, kind of how you get a pillow into a pillow case?? (see, now you ARE thinking of electing me for Mom of the Year!)
He then embarked on his very first boat ride!!
See the shock and awe on his face?? (and yes, his arms are pulled out of the life jacket. Yet another Mom of the Year moment. When we left them in, the jacket poofed up over his face when he sat, smothering him)
Chunky Monkey was FAR more interested in cheese puffs than the boat ride. He's not huge for no reason!!
And NO, those are NOT cheetos. I don't roll Britney Spears style, feeding my mini me cheetos, and Coke in a bottle. It's a Gerber lil crunchers.
He saw some kick ass cool adirondack chairs, shaped like fishies!!
So fun! I want a set of those!
Then, he realized that the rocking of the boat made him veeeeeery sleepy!
And he had his very first nap at sea. Or at lake. Whatever.
Chunky Monkey partied hard, but unfortunately, by the time these rolled around....
He was faaaast asleep!
(Can we take a minute to appreciate this picture? I had to take about 300 to get 2 good fireworks shots. Do you know how HARD it is to take a picture of fireworks??)

Don't you wish you COULD get lil crunchers in the same size and price and a bag of Cheetos though? Kylee (and Tim sometimes...) love Gerber snacks. Mommy hates the price of them though.. (Side note: I don't know if you ever shop at Bakers but (at least the one by us) has Gerber snacks on clearance a lot)

Just the idea of a boat ride makes me sleepy. But I don't think I would sleep through fire works! And your shot is gorgeous! A few years ago, that was my prime motivation to learn how to use all the settings on my camera - so that I could get great fireworks shots at Disney. And then my children insisted that we ride rides, and not watch fireworks. Ugh.

Love it when lil' dudes rock the hawk. :) Mine loves the Gerber Crunchers too, I kind of think they're tasty too. Those fishy chairs are pretty darn sweet!
